SFU Harbour Centre: Faculty of Health, SFU Harbour Centre, Vancouver BC

SFU needed a multi-space renovation to accommodate a new health care facility, including classrooms, offices, exercise space, and laboratory with backup power for low temperature freezers.

Client Challenge

Simon Fraser University (SFU) wanted to renovate its Vancouver Harbour Centre campus to accommodate the Healthy Heart Program (a joint program by Providence Health Care and Simon Fraser University). The project included a series of spaces, including classrooms, offices, exercise space, wet labs, and low-temperature freezers on emergency power backup.

Landmark Solution

The Landmark team led the project as both design architect and project manager. The work involved complete design services to overcome challenges including a very short timeframe and incorporation of a backup generator to protect the freezers. The result was that services were up and running within two months, in accordance with the owner’s schedule.

“[We were] very pleased with the quality of the spaces designed and the services provided [… They were] on time and on budget [… They] remain on our list of preferred consultants.”
