“The Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) is a tenant of Family Place and was a member of the project steering committee for the construction of Family place which is a $4.6 million dollar, 20,000 square foot facility.
“Monica Baillie, principal-in-charge at Landmark Architecture Ltd., was the project architect.
“Ms. Baillie worked with the project steering committee which included three partners: the owner, School District #69 (Qualicum) (5D69), and the two tenants, Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and VIHA.
“We learnt through the project that while each partner shared a similar client base, they each had very different needs, which added to the complexity of the project.
“VIHA is happy to be a part of Family Place, which has allowed us to achieve our original objective of partnering with School District #69 and Ministry of Children and Family Development to deliver a collaborative and integrated model of family services to the Parksville/Oceanside community.”
